Screen Calibration
We can't recommend strongly enough that every photographer
calibrate their screens for the best digital printing of
your images by ClickImage Labs. This is espcially important
for those photographers who digitally manipulate their images
before printing. Please use one or both of these two options
for screen calibration and then download our ICC profile
to maximize the accuracy between what you see on your screen
and what comes off our printers.

Option 1 - Manual Calibration
Manual calibration of your screen(s) visually with
our calibration photos is quick and easy. There is
no cost to you to receive the images by mail, as we
want you to be able to see the best results from the
quality prints you and your customers order from ClickImage
Labs. Simply log in to your account and navigate to
the MyStudio Overview page and click on Request
Screen Calibration Photos. There, you can verify
that your mailing address is correct, click a button,
and the two 8x10 photos will be printed and mailed
out in 3-5 days free of charge to you!
By using the calibration photos, you can match the
colors displayed on your screen with those that will
be printed by our printers. Doing this ensures that
the photographs you or your customer order will come
back looking as clear and color-balanced as the images
you sent in for processing.
Most operating systems include software "controls"
to allow you to adjust the color balance on your
screen. On a PC, these settings can be found in
your Control Panel under "Display". Sometimes,
your monitor itself will have controls to change
the color balance.
Once you receive your calibration photos from ClickImage
Labs, open their digital counterparts on your screen
by clicking on the links below. Once you have them
open, place the calibration photos along side the
images on your screen and ajust your screen and/or
operating system settings to match the color balance.

Option 2 - Optical Calibration
Optical calibration of your screen(s) is absolutely
the most reliable method to use for calibration. This
method uses a piece of hardware which you place in
from of your monitor which will adjust your monitor
more accurately than manual calibration.
Below are some recommended Optical Calibration devices
we suggest: Colorvision's
Spyder2express (Windows / Mac) Less than $100
Colorvision's
Spyder2Pro (Windows / Mac) Greater than $100
Pantone
GretagMacbeth's huey (Windows / Mac) Less than
$100 Pantone
GretagMacbeth's huey Eye-One (Windows / Mac) Greater
than $100 |
